Kristen Gruber | PRESIDENT


With a well-deserved reputation for professionalism and high ethical standards, Kristen is a frequent speaker and leader in our industry. Throughout her career, she has focused on developing insurance solutions for agents, dealers, and OEMs. Kristen has worked in the insurance arena for over 25 years, much of it focused on the F&I industry. Prior to joining us, she spent 13 years with Great American Insurance Company in various Underwriting and Product Management roles, managing dealer aftermarket and risk management products, including excess wear and tear, vehicle service contracts, product warranties and finance reserve insurance. In addition, she has nine years of product development experience on the administrator/broker side of our business. Kristen completed her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and earned a business degree from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana, and an MBA from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Today, Kristen and her management team work to provide our clients with the exceptional regulatory, compliance, and analytical support they need to grow their business.


Bill Bigley | CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER


Bill BigleyBill joined SouthwestRe in 2013, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in financial management to the company. He started his career in public accounting, and has held executive level positions in insurance, coal mining and transportation industries. In the mid-1980s, Bill began managing producer owned reinsurance companies and has continually expanded his knowledge of the financial and contractual aspects of these companies. He has spent over 25 years in the insurance industry, specifically in automotive F&I services organizations. A native of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Bill has a BS in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He and his wife Jeannie have been married for over 26 years. In his spare time, he enjoys bicycling, skiing and traveling.


LEGAL & COMPLIANCE


 
Kirk Borchardt | CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL


Josh PedeltyKirk is a leading expert on the regulatory, tax, and corporate structural aspects of the service contract and ancillary products industries. Kirk began his career in 1981 as an attorney in the Chicago offices of Lord, Bissell and Brook, rising to the level of partner and managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office. He was an original member of the NAIC Service Contracts Act Working Group, whose efforts spawned the adoption of the Service Contracts Model Act, a necessary progenitor to the proliferation of the administrator-obligor corporate structure. Kirk promoted the adoption of insurance company tax treatment for service contracts providers, which he successfully achieved for his client through the issuance of Technical Advice Memorandum 9601001 by the IRS in 1996. In 2006, Kirk became President and CEO of Dealers Assurance Company, and remained with DAC through 2013. His unique ability to find creative solutions, coupled with his 38 years of regulatory, tax, and corporate experience in our niche industry will help us deliver on expected shareholder returns.


INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY


 
Greg Hendee | VICE PRESIDENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY


Greg HendeeGreg has been with SouthwestRe since 2002. As Vice President of Information Technology, Greg is responsible for overseeing our IT infrastructure, technology initiatives, and all development efforts for systems utilized to service our clients. Greg started his career at SouthwestRe as a Senior Systems Architect, where he managed the design and implementation of our Toro policy administration system and our OLÉ dealer portal. As Vice President, his role includes supervision of the IT teams responsible for SouthwestRe’s network, servers, phone systems, databases, development, and quality assurance. He also oversees the development of features for Toro, OLÉ, and all other systems used by SouthwestRe and our agent and dealer partners. Prior to SouthwestRe, Greg worked as a technology consultant in Chicago and Minneapolis in charge of an Internet Technology team. When he’s not in front of a computer, Greg plays on several competitive softball teams, scuba dives, and goes fly fishing for trout and bass as often as he can.


SALES & MARKETING



Scott Craigmile | SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES & MARKETING

Scott CraigmileScott has been with SouthwestRe since 2009, and leads all company efforts to achieve our sales goals and marketing strategies. Scott has over 40 years of experience in the automotive and reinsurance industries, including six years as a dealer. Prior to SouthwestRe, he gained experience in many roles on all sides of the business. Scott held a leadership position at The Ryan Group, where he worked his way up from Account Specialist to Senior Vice President of the company. He was a Managing Partner of Mercedes-Benz, Audi & Porsche of Albuquerque, New Mexico, until starting his own agency, The Partners Group. Scott was one of our valued agent-partners for many years prior to joining SouthwestRe.


Carmen Torres | VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES & MARKETING

Carmen_Torres_WebCarmen has been with the company since 2003. She has served in roles ranging from Reinsurance Company Administrator to her latest role as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Her industry experience includes administrative management and oversight of captive reinsurance companies, reinsurance treaty administration, account management, and agency administration. Carmen studied Economics at the University of New Mexico, and holds an AA in Business Administration. Her professional designations include Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), and Associate, Reinsurance Administration (ARA) from the Life Office Management Association. She is licensed for Life, Accident & Health Insurance in the state of New Mexico, and has the authority to do insurance business in 30+ other states. Beyond her role in the organization, Carmen is involved in the Young Leaders Society and Women in Philanthropy through the United Way.

Scott has also been a Managing Partner of Premier Motorcars in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a Managing Partner and President of CRW Leadership and Management, LLC, a worldwide trainer of managers and leaders.


CLAIMS


 
Brad Crowson | VICE PRESIDENT OF CLAIMS

Brad CrowsonBrad has been with SouthwestRe since 2000. When he first started with the Company, Brad played a key role in the design and implementation of our Claims Department, and has helped build it into one of the finest operations of its kind in our industry. Over the years, he has served as our Claims Manager, Director of Claims, and Vice President of Casualty Claims. Brad currently oversees all call center activities, including the direction and administration of claims handling. He also reviews daily and real-time call reporting to ensure proper routing and staffing. In addition, Brad monitors and maintains all IT resources in our Dallas office. Prior to SouthwestRe, Brad worked for many years at First Extended Service Corporation. Outside of work, Brad enjoys spending time with his family, movies, music, and cycling. He considers himself a car guy through and through, and enjoys studying up on automotive history and design.


UNDERWRITING & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT


 
Jamie Jerabek | VICE PRESIDENT OF UNDERWRITING & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

jamiejerabekJamie joined SouthwestRe in 2003, and has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He currently serves in a dual role as Vice President of Underwriting and Vice President of Product Development. Jamie and his two teams work with dealer owners, F&I managers, state compliance officials, SouthwestRe’s agent partners, as well as other departments within the Company, to develop new programs, improve active programs, and ensure that all programs are accurately reserved based on loss reporting analytics. He previously served as Supervisor and Director in the Claims department, where he implemented department-wide standard operating procedures, and assisted in training and mentoring of Claims staff. Before entering the extended service contract industry, Jamie worked as an ASE Certified Master Technician, and then as a Service Advisor for a multi-franchise dealer group. He received his Associates Degree in Automotive Technology from SCC-Milford, and his BS in Management from Bellevue University. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys taking his two kids fishing, or joining his wife to cheer them on as they compete in a variety of sporting events.
