COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

United Way of Central New Mexico |
CORPORATE CORNERSTONE PARTNER

UWCNM_4Color_Hori

Our company's golden rule has always been the familiar passage "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." One way we demonstrate that philosophy is by embracing our responsibility to help support the well-being of the communities where we live and work. That's why our company does its part to help support our local chapter of the United Way.

SouthwestRe is proud to be a Corporate Cornerstone Partner for United Way of Central New Mexico. Through the assistance of SouthwestRe and its employees, and other charitable companies and individuals in Central New Mexico, the United Way's administrative costs are fully covered. This allows 100% of donor contributions to go directly to their designated charities, and ensures that all monies are prudently and efficiently expended to support the goals of our community.

This assistance to the United Way would not have been possible without the participation of our caring SouthwestRe employees, who increased their participation in 2013 to the highest levels recorded in the existence of our company!

Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico |
HELPING TO FEED THE HUNGRY

RoadrunnerFoodBank1

The 2015 Holiday food drive to benefit the Roadrunner Food Bank has been our most successful year yet.   Here are a few words from the motivating force behind this campaign, Assistant Director of Reinsurance Accounting Christopher Bounds:

“During the months of November and December 2015 SouthwestRe brought in 6,084 pounds that provided 8,681 meals and fed 2,894 people. We tripled our donations from 2014 and I’m just speechless. It just goes to show what a great group of people we have here at SouthwestRe and without their contributions this wouldn’t have been possible. I love that we are able to donate to such a great cause and the one thing that really was awesome to hear about our food drive this year was from the Road Runner Finance team, “SouthwestRe is such a generous company. We may not see the people who make the donations from there but every day we see cash or a check come from them and what a blessing they are to this community.” Just to hear them say that is amazing. Thank you SouthwestRe for all your donations and for another successful food drive.”
